Working with clay has become a passion & new awareness. A clay form such as a vase is like an open canvas waiting for expression. After spending several years with an established Seagrove pottery family I have developed a new appreciation for the art. I am so thankful for my friends & family who are encouraging & supportive in my creativity. Having worked with multiple clays, glazes & firing methods each day always provides further knowledge & awareness. To me pottery involves experimentation, inspiration, research, learning, testing & getting dirty. I love it! Excitement & beauty surrounds every ball of clay taking shape & turning into art! Currently my focus is carving freehand designs in my wheel turned forms. I also love making face jugs, vases, whimsicals and various utilitarian items. “To live is to create!”
